Learn these 2 secret rules and you will never go wrong in present tense.
If you can master present tense, you can easily master every other tense.
My Backstory
During my initial years as a journalist in 1994-95, I was a subeditor at Deccan Chronicle. I used to make tons of mistakes, especially while writing headlines. One day my news editor called me and said: "Subhas, if you want to master the English language, you must become a master in framing correct Present Tenses first. There are only 3 things you must know in the present tense. Nothing more... nothing less."
He taught me the 3 "things", and worked with me closely till I became near perfect.
I can't forget the feeling of jubilation and sense of achievement after learning those 3 secrets. I went on to become Associate Editor of Silicon India, a US-based business & technology magazine. Even today, I put these secrets into my every day writing and speaking.
From a well-paid journalist to marketing coach, my career took several twists and turns. If I look back, I have possibly done every bit of writing and speaking -- from newspaper editor to an entrepreneur.
